Arknights: Endfield's first major post-launch content wave landed September 2 with version 1.5, “Dreamscape of Wind and Snow” — the update brings a new 6-star Operator, a free 5-star pickup, two new maps and a fresh story chapter, eight months after the game's January 22 worldwide launch on PC, PS5 and mobile.
A free 5-star, for once
The headline for free-to-play players: Purrchena, a 5-star Operator, is obtainable for free this patch alongside her signature weapon, Dessert Moment — no banner pulls required. The new 6-star, Typhoeus, is the one you will need to gacha for, via the Winter Hunt banner running through September 30 at 12:00 (UTC+8).
Two banner phases, a returning favorite
Typhoeus's Winter Hunt banner covers the update's first phase; a second phase opens September 24 with a RE-Factor rerun for Yvonne, one of the game's more requested returns since launch. On the content side, the Echoes of War mode adds a new season, Virtuality, live now, with a second season, Illusion, following on September 24 — alongside two new explorable areas, Wuling – Snowy Forest and Wuling – Suiming.
Eight months in
Endfield crossed 30 million pre-registrations before its January launch and has kept a steady cadence of updates since. Version 1.5 is the clearest signal yet that Hypergryph and Gryphline are treating base-building and exploration content as first-class additions alongside new Operators, rather than an afterthought to the gacha banner cycle.
